Below is process to to recover the password
1. Reboot Server or Turn On Machine
2. Select Recovery Mode for the version of kernel that you wish to boot
3. Add init=/bin/bash to the end of the kernel command line
4. Boot The Kernel
5. Remount / with mount -rw -o remount
6. Run /usr/sbin/pwconv
7. Run passwd to set root password
8. Run sync to flush filesystem buffers
9. Reboot
Note: It will create new shadow file and update new password set for root user.
